A rare wall (or ceiling) mounted lamp of molded and cut plywood with a metal base by Bill Lam, an MIT-trained architect and designer who operated his own design workshop in Boston in the early 1950s. Bill Lam's designs were specified for California Case Study Houses (this example surfaced in California), and were featured in the best-practice design journals from the period. This fixture, which was produced circa 1952, can be installed vertically or horizontally on the wall, or can mount flush to the ceiling. It has been rewired and is in fine working order. With its original paper label.

Condition
In fine condition. The wood has been lightly refurbished, and the lamp has been rewired. The painted surface is original. Minor wear throughout consistent with age and use.
