Cast and hand collaged, wall-hanging sculpture of phosphor bronze and silver by Richard Filipowski (1923-2008), executed c. 1960-1965. Titled "Ipswich." A favored student of Moholy-Nagy at the New Bauhaus, Filipowski taught the Fundamentals course there after Moholy died in 1947, and later taught similar courses at Harvard (under Gropius) and at MIT, all the while painting, sculpting, and designing. Unsigned, with a certificate of authenticity from the FIlipowski Trust.
