United States
circa 1950’s

Group of four sculptural planters of aluminum and iron, designed by Estelle & Erwine Laverne and produced by Laverne International circa 1950's. According to a contemporary Laverne catalog, these are model numbers PL-12A, PL-14, PL-6, and PL-13A. The tallest measures Height 28.5 inches x Diameter 15 inches; the lowest measures Height 14 inches x Diameter 6.5 inches. All have their original white enamel paint, still in quite good condition as a consequence of being used indoors and with plastic foliage, so no water or pronounced rust damage, as is often the case with these. A hard-to-find grouping of different forms and heights with original enamel paint and uniform patina throughout. Can be arranged into numerous photogenic abstract compositions. Price is for the group of four.

Condition
Wear consistent with age and use. Surface wear and minor scratches throughout, some loss of paint and tone inside the bowls, minor shifting out of round on the largest bowl. Still, quite good original condition for this design series with uniform patina to the original enamel paint.
